There's nothing we love more than creating some fun, healthy snacks here at Sneaky Veg.

There are so many reasons to love them:

  • mainly made of fruit
  • a fun simple activity that the kids can make themselves - even toddlers
  • easy to adapt for dietary requirements eg use vegan yoghurt, replace chocolate spread with currants or a black icing tube
  • cute to look at
  • tasty to eat.

Get your kids to make them

Why not get your kids to make their own strawberry and banana Santas?

At the mini chefs toddler cooking classes that I teach, little ones as young as 18 months old have had fun making (and eating) these.

Cooking with kids is an invaluable way to get them to try new foods as well as learn some important life skills.

There's no actual cooking required to make these Santas. However, kids will still learn from the experience as they'll need to:

  • slice the fruit
  • spoon on the yoghurt
  • pipe on the eyes - good for fine motor skills
  • taste the different foods and textures.

Read more about why cooking with kids is so important.
