Fresh, delicious and healthy, this Christmas fruit salad adds a splash of festive colour to the table. Mangoes, melon, grapes, oranges and pomegranate seeds with their hues of gold, orange, green and red make a bright, attractive fruit salad that everyone will enjoy.

If you’re looking for a bright, colourful and healthy Christmas dessert that the whole family can enjoy then this fruit salad is for you.
Made with brightly coloured fruit - such as mango, melon, oranges, pomegranates and grapes - this salad is packed full of vitamins.
It's a great way of adding some nutritional value to your Christmas meal.
If you want to make it extra festive then use star-shaped cookie cutters to cut some of the fruit. Don't waste the leftovers though, you can cut them into chunks and add to the rest of the salad.
Great for kids
It can be tricky to eat well over Christmas.
Making fun, delicious and healthy dishes using fruit and vegetables is an easy way to make sure that kids and adults alike get some vitamins in.
This salad is a great one to make with the kids too - my kids loved cutting the mango stars using their cookie cutters.
In fact if you have picky eaters, getting them involved in prepping the fruit for this salad might even help them to try something new.
Making ahead
I recommend that you make this fruit salad on the day that you want to eat it.
However, if you do make it in advance be sure to store it in the fridge. Squeezing the lemon juice over will help to keep the fruit fresh.
If you do have leftovers they will be fine but you may find the fruit goes juicy while stored in the fridge.
Equipment
Here's what you need to make this fruit salad:
- Sharp knife
- Chopping board
- Star cutters, optional
- Serving platter or bowl
Serving suggestions
This salad is delicious on its own. However you could serve it with some cream or ice cream if you wanted.
It would also work well as a selection of desserts after your Christmas dinner, perhaps with a traditional Christmas pudding as another option.
It is great for those looking for a lighter, healthier dessert. After all Christmas dinner can be pretty filling.
