A delicious nut free granola made with coconut, cherry and sunflower seeds. Perfect for anyone with a nut allergy or for sending in a lunchbox to a nut free school.

  • 300 g jumbo oats
  • 100 g sunflower seeds
  • 50 g dried coconut flakes
  • 1 tbsp hemp hearts optional
  • 100 ml sunflower oil
  • 100 ml maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g dried cherries


  • Pre-heat the oven to 120°C (fan)/140°C/gas mark 1.
  • Line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
  • Place 300g jumbo oats, 100g sunflower seeds, 50g dried coconut flakes, 1 tbsp hemp hearts, 100ml sunflower oil, 100ml maple syrup and 1 tsp vanilla extract in a bowl and mix well.
  • Spread out on to the baking trays in a thin layer.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, stir well, and then return to the oven for another 20 minutes.
  • Allow to cool completely on the tray then mix with 100g dried cherries and store in an airtight container.
